Gilberto P.
De Hoyos-Koloffon, PHD.
Founding Partner
Attorney with more than 25 years of experience specialized in intellectual property, complex litigation, contractual matters, and corporate law. He holds several master's degrees and a Doctorate in Humanities, with advanced studies in Mexico and abroad, and is a graduate of IPADE Business School (Monterrey, NL), José Martí University of Latin America (Monterrey, NL), Georgetown University (Washington, D.C.), and Harvard Business School (Boston, Mass).

He has served as a Public Server on several occasions, including as the first autonomous prosecutor specializing in electoral crimes in the state of Nuevo León.
​
He is President of the Intellectual Property Committee of ANADE N.L. and Advisor on “Business Innovation” at COPARMEX N.L.
​
He is a lecturer, speaker, and author of various articles and books, the most recent being “La Procuración de Justicia a Debate” (The Prosecution of Justice Under Debate), published by Tirant Lo Blanch. He has been recognized by various public and private institutions for his performance as a lawyer and his strategic leadership, professional ethics, and innovative vision.

In August 2025, the Governor of the State of Nuevo León granted him the title of Notary Public Number 156, based in the municipality of Santa Catarina, Nuevo León.

Alejandra M. Garza -Domínguez, LLM.
Managing Partner
Attorney graduated from Tecnológico de Monterrey, with a solid track record in intellectual property, corporate strategies, and legal team management throughout more than 20 years of experience. She has also served as a council member in the municipality of San Pedro Garza García, Nuevo León.
​
She joined De Hoyos Koloffon as an associate and has driven the firm's growth, consolidating its position as a national leader. She specializes in the legal management of industrial property rights and copyrights, as well as contracts and corporate transactions. She currently directs DHK's operations and strategic vision.
​
She chairs the Intellectual Property Commission of the Nuevo León Chapter of the Mexican Bar Association, where she also serves as a counselor. She is an active member of the National Association of Corporate Lawyers (ANADE-NL), the Mexican Association for the Protection of Intellectual Property, A.C. (AMPPI), and the International Trademark Association (INTA).

She has also taught at the professional and postgraduate levels at institutions such as the Tecnológico de Monterrey (ITESM), the Universidad Modelo (Mérida, Yuc.), and the Universidad de Monterrey (UDEM), in addition to participating as a speaker at national and international legal forums.
​
She holds two master's degrees: one in Law with a specialization in Corporate Law from the Graduate School of Public Administration and Public Policy (EGAP) at Tecnológico de Monterrey, and a Master's Degree in Industrial Property, Copyright, and New Technologies from Universidad Panamericana (UP). She is currently pursuing doctoral studies.

Marketer and master in international business (Pompeo Fabre, Barcelona, Spain). His practice focuses on serving and following up with DHK's domestic and foreign clients, as well as the firm's marketing strategy. His approach combines business acumen with solid strategic solutions for business operations.

Miguel A. Vela -Arellano
Partner of the Patent Department
Engineer with extensive experience in industrial property and applied technologies. Specialist in drafting and processing patent applications, as well as in technical and legal analysis of inventions. Coordinates the patent area with a technical and scientific approach and strategic vision for the protection of innovation. Holds a master's degree in administration from ITESM.

Dr. Pedro Paez-Torres
Partner of tax and accounting
Certified Public Accountant with solid experience in tax, financial, and accounting matters, gained through his time at KPMG and PWC. He advises companies on tax planning, compliance opinions, and accounting and tax audits. His comprehensive and technical approach provides legal certainty and efficiency in complex financial and tax operations. He holds a PhD in Humanities (José Martí University of Latin America).
